A World of My Own

I'm trying my hand at making a custom world for The Sims 3. It's... more difficult than I thought it would be. It took over four hours just to sort out the mountains and get the roads connecting right, not to mention the bridges. I could raise them one minute and not the next, then I realized it was the grid disallowing it. Heh!

Now I don't really know what to do. There's so many things I could add but I don't know where to start. I found rather quickly that I missed the cluster of firs and pines from TS2. Didn't matter what you did, they always seemed to look good along mountain ranges. I can't seem to do anything decent with these ones. Doesn't look natural... just messy. Blargh.

Sims3 Cutler Spam

Five days left and I've yet to open the game to take pics for anything. Not to mention play my post-apocalyptic hood to get my founders two sprogs growing, so I can finally start playing the NLC4 and post by the 1st. What crap timing for everything, my goodness.

It's kind of sad that I'm more excited for a video game release than putting out shineh sim stuff for people to use. I used to enjoy it so much more, but maybe it's just that I've gotten damn lazy.

Okay, I have become the biggest dork ever. I've been poking at things in Sims3, mainly because I play that more now and felt like I should at least try to make something other than sims and houses. There was a lot of cussing and whining over many failed attempts, but when things finally worked... loud squeals. Yes.

Replacing Default Clothes? Success!

I was looking through the archive of defaults (still a WIP) and noticed nothing had been done for the teen mini skirts with sandals -or at least they just haven't gotten that far yet. Thought it might be fun to learn to default things myself, and make my Stillness of Heart set replace the skirts. Not as hard as I was expecting!

Anyway, I already uploaded them to the site because I got all freaking excited =D Get 'em here.

A Whole Lotta Shit

So I finally got Castaway Stories and I like it for the most part, but it's driving me nuts that I can't use custom hair or makeup (for nose masks, freckles, etc.). I made sure to enable them and restarted the game, but the only things showing up are the default replacements. Maxis hair is teh gross >.>

Also, I thought I was going to be able to start working on the Cutler update but some heavy RL stuff has presented itself today. Well, more like yesterday but the shit really hit the fan tonight. Ever meet a man that is a complete fucking selfish bastard and all you'd like to do is shoot him in the fucking face? Seriously. Every time he throws a tantrum like a kid he makes me hate him a little more, but this just takes the cake. He doesn't deserve to be a father. In fact, he doesn't deserve anyone in his life. Fucking bastard.[/end rant] Sorry. I've just been dealing with this BS since last summer and it's steadily getting worse because of that asshole.

ANYHOW. Yay for The Sims loading in a timely fashion.

I mentioned on my craptacular twitter the other day that I was working on a new skintone for lovely Mr. Larson. I ended up just slapping Aikea's hair overlay onto an Ephemera skin, blending a peggy face onto it so he would still look the same. Although he still did look fairly close without it. Then I put his tattoos on moraque's overlay box so they wouldn't be passed down to the kidlet (omg, red hair PLEASE!). It'll take time getting used to, mainly because his pecks are no longer so massive and strange. It got seraphic_slayer's approval anyway xD

I managed to do a teen conversion of Kayleigh's Rat Bastard edit and it works, yay! Unfortunately there's some gaps in the neck and at the bottom I'm having a hell of a time closing. Baby steps, right? =P

Here's hoping I can sort it out and slave it to the adult mesh this weekend *crosses fingers*

I've been wanting to add morphs to Geldyh's Sleepless Child mesh since I started the project and finally have gotten around to it. It didn't come without problems but by this point I think that kind of goes without saying when it comes to me =P

I should've added a creator to my site ages ago! If I had known they'd kick my ass into gear...

Anyway, I finished a second (technically it's the third as the second is still kind of borked) Club Crimsyn edit! This time it's Gelydh's short dress with wedges because I was dying to have Liegen's recolor as maternity wear.

As for the Cutlers... well, I'm setting them aside until after Christmas I think. I'm a little on the moody side of late and that always results in horrible pictures =/

Technically there's only exterior previews because there isn't much to show inside. They're more or less empty rooms with dark wood floors and faded, grungy wall coverings. And spiral stairs.
